My group (Keylla, Dianya & Ruddy) is doing contamination of ground water. Right now we are researching which particular type of contaminated water we are going to do for example rain or just water in general.
So far we are taking samples of water from different fountains in the school. We plan to go to one of the science labs so a teacher can test the water for us.We are also finding out the sides effects of drinking water that is not clean.
Olivia and Lemar. (grouped with Ivan, and Gloria) Gropu name:
Our topic is The average amount of water waste within the house hold.
So far we have done research to find out what are the average uses of water within the household. We have gotten information one the amount of water used in the bathroom, kitchen, and outdoors.
my group is doing research on the pollution of the hudson river. like what effects the pollution have on humans and animals? and what can we do to stop this pollution? so far we have researched what causes the pollution in the Hudson river and the effects it has on humans and animals.
( Lower Quality Of Water Used In Beverages) _The issue here is that the beverage company's and anybody that's supplying any type of water to the communities are trying to lower the quality and amount of water that's already being used just to save money.
Our topic is about bottle water. We should drink water from the water bottle rather than drinking water from the water foundter. The bottle water are more safer than the regular water from the sink or water foundter. When ever you want to drink water you should buy a water bottle and drink it.We are in group #5 with 3 people in our groups are Santu Ahmed, jin wang, Kirizia A.
Marie Sanon, Maraih Bynoe and Faroh Tillson topic is about the water quality in the central park resevoir. We are focuse on the effect the central park resevoir have on our ecosystem. We are in the process of finding more information on the effect the resevoir our environment and we also focuse on how to make our environmental world a safer place.
we have switch our topic to acid rain and our question was does acid rain effect buildings in my group research we found out itdoes take effect on the building (group members Dijon,Glenn,Chrystal, Justin)
We have started our project on the pollution of the hudson river an we are in progress that we have already found out that the hudson river is the 33rd most polluted river in the united states.
We are researching about the poor water quality of school water fountains. So far we have established what we want to accomplish from studying this topic. This is what we hope to accomplish: 1- Be able to filter and purify the water 2-Have cleaner fountains 3- Be able to move the water pipes to cooler areas
(Amanda, Natasha, Neequel, Paula) In our research of bottled water vs. tap water we found out that bottled water has a negative effect on the enviornment.
Enviromental Impact of Battle Water (Jhon,Zakir,Ricardo) We start it to research on the internet aboout the effects of the battle water on the Enviroment.
the east river contains a number of island.upper section:rikers island, etc. in the lower section:roosevelt, and more. the river is spanned by eight bridges which from north to south are:whitestone bridge, queens boro bridge, manhattan bridge, brooklyn bridge, and more.

Our topic is about acid rain and how it affects our enviroment. So far we found that acid rain can damage the health of individuals, animals, and monuments.
we started in house water consumption and we found out that showers consume more water per households each year than any other area about 25-35%of all household consumption
My topic is the pollution in the kill vN KULL AND HOW WE CAN RESOLVE THIS HOW WE CAN REDUCCE OR MAKE THE CITIZENS OF NEWyork aware of what is going on.

OUR TOPIC IS ABOUT SCHOOL WATER ,AND HOW WE NEED TO MAKE IT BETTER FOR THE ENVIROMENT FOR STUNDENT AND TEACHERS..THE PROCESSES THAT WE NEED TO DO IN ORDER TOFIX IT IS CALL TH BORAD OF EDUCAtion and hAVE THEM MAKE A POLICY THAT THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT COME EVERY MONTH AND EXCEPT THE WATER AND PIPES THAT THEY RUN THROUGH....
The Hudson River is the thirty-third most polluted river in the United States. Contaminants such as PCB's (Polychlorinated biphenyl's) and DDT are present in the Hudson River. Two GE facilities alone contaminated over 200 miles of the river from Hudson Falls to the New York Harbor. It has been declared as a superfund site. GE was guilty of dumping more than one million pounds of PCB's for 30 years. Some of the fish were said to be deformed and abnorma
Well im researching the pollution in the kill van kull and how we can prevent any future damage on the ecosystem and prevent any further harm to one of our most needed natural resources.

We identified the issue of NYC public pools. we proposed to evaluating pools frequently. We found facts online based on how it affects the community. We made a n outline for our power point information.
From the research that we made we found out that water is not always the Quality it's supposed to be.. Sometimes the water Quality can be lower then the tap water..
Our topic is "hudson river". General Electric Corporation has been involved in a long lasting battle over the cleanup of Polychlorinated biphenyl contamination of the Hudson. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): "The General Electric Company discharged between 209,000 and 1.3 million pounds of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) into the river from two capacitor manufacturing plants located in Hudson Falls and Fort Edward."[6] In 1983, the EPA declared a 200 mile (322 km) stretch of the river, from Hudson Falls to New York City, to be a Superfund site. GE will soon commence dredging operations at its own expense to clean up the PCBs.[7] Inspired by Earth Day advocates, this action anchored the Riverkeeper program that grew into a global umbrella organization, the Waterkeeper Alliance. The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater is an environmental education organization that promotes awareness of the river and its history. Other pollution issues affecting the river include: Accidental sewage discharges, urban surface runoff, heavy metals, furans, dioxin, pesticides, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).[8] The Hudson River estuary system is part of The National Estuarine Research Reserve System.[9] A study reported in the August 2008 issue of the journal Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry suggests that mercury in common Hudson River fish, including striped bass, yellow perch, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and carp, has declined strongly over the past three decades. The conclusions were extracted from a large database of mercury analyses of fish fillets accumulated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and collected over much of the length of the Hudson from New York City waters to the Adirondack watershed. The research indicates that the trends are in line with the recovery that the Hudson River has experienced over the past few decades, now that activist groups, government officials and industry are beginning to cooperate to help clean up the river system.
Our topic is pool water and how it affects people. We have identified that chlorine doesnt always clean the water completely. Many funguses, infections, and illnesses are chlorine resistant so chlorine wont always remove the fungus, illness or infection. So in our research we found ways in which pools can properly be filtered and clean in our to prevent infection. -Jennifer Abreu Pd. 6
OKAY people lets set some ground rules If you plan to leave any comments in regards to this PROJECT USE PROPER ENGLISH with CORRECT GRAMMAR... You know thats why your sent to school.. maybe you should put some of what you learn to use.
my group (orenella, gentjana, and quennasia) is doing the hudson river. right now we are researching on the pollution and how to fix it and have a better enviornment
this project was different than any other project i have done in this school. i learned alot about differnt types of effects of water in our environment and i learned too from my classmates opinion. Good job mr.webb and staff! bye and God bless!!!

Santu and Jin Said... We liked all of your project that you that and put lot of efforts. We learn lots of different things from your projects and some people did video on their projects; that was so much interesting to know different things on water topic. It was great projects!
what i like about the project was that we were able to use laptop in class in order to help us do it correctly. another thing was that we didn't do it in poster board so it was easy doing it in a blog or powerpoint. o think that this project were amazing becasue wee got to know thing that we never imagine.
Natasha, Amanda My group researched polluted beaches and the side effects it had on our health. It was interesting to learn about what could happen to someone if the beach water is polluted. I'm glad we did the project however I wouldn't like to do it again!
